I Am Different, I Am Autistic
Maybe I can't talk,Maybe all I can do is scream,
Maybe I'll act up outside,
A brat, To you it will seem,
Don't judge my parents,
Or make them feel sad,
For I really can't help,
If my behaviour is bad,
Please remember I can see,
And I can also feel,
I may seem different and awkward,
But I'm still a person thats real.
Please try to understand my world
And see the child inside,
For its just that I'm so very scared
And a part of me wants to hide.
If you could only accept me
For who I really am,
I'd have a chance to learn and grow
Just like my friend Sam.
Inside You'll see,I'm very smart
I can do things most people never will,
But if you refuse to accept me
My spirit you will surely kill,
The time is now,
To start to learn,
Theres now so many like me,
Just think a world of Average And Autistic,
What a beautiful place that would be!

Accept Me by: Larry S. Chengges
I Am I
Do not change me
condemn me
nor put me down
Accept me for what I am
No...you need not agree with me
But accept me
for I am total in being
I have my faults
I have my guilts
But that is who I am
Perfect I will never be
Allow me to be uninhibited
Do not pressure me into feeling
what I do not feel
Accept me when I am flying high
As I have accepted you when
you were flying high
Do not put me down...nor make
me feel unhappy about me
I am I
and I like being what I am
Me.

Mother you have been my greatest treasure By Larry S. Chengges
Mother You Have Been My Greatest Treasure by Larry S. Chengges
Mother you have opened me to so much love,
I have not yet found a world to give it all to....
All of the rich&Joyfilled momentswe have shared together,
Has given me a deeper understanding oflife and the true
meaning of Human Happiness.
I remember not a day passed in my childhood&Youth,
That you didn't find some way to give,
Even when you were tired or carried a troubled heart.
From you I learned Charity and Compassion and Tolerance.
From you I learned to like myself.
It is because of these things that I am growing.
Your being a part of my life and believing in me,
Gave me the courage to be a person,To be Free.
You will always be with me,
Then because we have shared not only love, but Trust.
Trust me,Then,To remember
And Love you Forever!

Down Syndrome Births Drop in U.S. as More Women Abort - ABC News are autistics gonna face the same dilema?
Down Syndrome Births Drop in U.S. as More Women Abort - ABC News
This worries me as technology gets closer to identifying genes related to autism. I'm an autistic person who has a daughter with autism. I wouldn't change my life even if I was able to choose. There are reasons everyone is different and those with special needs make the world as beautifully different as it should be. So I ask everyone if you had a choice to abort a child with special needs or have the child what would you do. Parents of special needs children would you give up your child to avoid the special needs? Could you see a world without your child?
